When starting out, covering the expense of the team, the uniform, and the equipment can be a bit overwhelming but know there are ways to save on the equipment needs to help the strain felt on your wallet.

Dick’s Sporting Goods coupons: Any sports family knows the value of the 20% off coupon available at various times through Dick’s Sporting Goods. Many of these are valid online and in-store which can prove helpful if your local store is sold out of your needed items. Also note that the store can place this order for you and use the coupon (if the coupon states in-store only.)

Play it Again Sports: Visiting Play it Again Sports can be huge for that first year, especially. Many families use this route to get the bigger ticket item such as a helmet. While we want to stress safety and knowing you have a good helmet, going the route of a good used helmet for a year (or two) can help give a bit of a buffer while you work to upgrade as you know your child will be sticking with the sport.

Websites: There are numerous sites that offer the full line of lacrosse needs and many times offer sales and promotional codes to help you save. Some such sites include:

…last but not least,

Talk to your coach and other parents. Many times families will upgrade items and are more than happy to either pass along or sell their used items to their fellow teammates. We love nothing more than being able to help a new player join the lacrosse family!
